Fragrances of Florida Unveils new Fragrance at First lady's Luncheon in Washington, D.C.
Fragrances of Florida unveiled its latest fragrance, La Florida, May 18th in Washington, D.C. at the Congressional Clubs signature luncheon honoring the First lady, Michelle Obama.
Chaired by Pat Mica, wife of Florida Congressman John Mica, the 2011 luncheon theme celebrated all that is Florida. From the beautiful Lily Pulitzer designed tablecloths to the entertainer, Gloria Estefan, the scent of La Florida with its heady fragrances of orange blossoms, jasmine and sea breezes captured the heart of Florida.
La Florida is the third scent in the Florida inspired fragrance collection from Fragrances of Florida. The scent an eau de parfum is light, fruity and fresh with a hint of sea breeze and sunshine. La Florida captures the essence of the Sunshine state evoking a sense of place.
A place discovered in 1512 by Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon who upon embarking on its shores was so impressed with its abundant flowers that he named his discovery La Florida , which is Spanish for flowers. Thousands of visitors have graced Florida's beautiful beaches and in Washington, D.C. on May 18th, 2,000 guest took the scent of Florida home with them in a bottle. A first for this timeless luncheon, Fragrances of Florida was asked to design a new perfume exclusively for the annual spring event that has honored First lady's since 1912.
